Childcare Product Review: The Fisher Price Laugh and Learn Fun and Friends Musical Table

By Jennifer Dilwortz

This musical toy table supplies numerous entertaining activities for your child in just one place. The table not only offers entertainment for your child to enjoy, but also has educational components which help with young children's education and development.

The Fisher Price Laugh and Learn Fun and Friends Musical Table plays over 50 songs. Each corner of the table has a different character that lights up and interacts with your young child. Your baby can learn about letters and numbers, helping with language development. The table can also help with identifying colors, shapes and animals, and developing ideas like cause and effect and whether things are identical or opposite.

The Fisher Price Laugh and Learn Fun and Friends Musical Table can play tunes in either Spanish or English, which can be a fabulous stress-free method for parents keen on promoting a multilingual household to introduce Spanish (or English if it is not the primary language in the family.) It is actually 4 toys in 1:

- A computer with tons of songs which helps the baby to learn about letters, geometric shapes and many other lessons;
- A keyboard that may be played, while finding out about colors simultaneously;
- A counting phone that doubles as a teaching tool for numbers;
- A storybook with flippable pages and stories for the young child to learn.

The toy is a table top with many gadgets. Included in the toy are detachable legs allowing your child to use the table while standing. The table needs 3 AA (LR6) alkaline batteries, which aren't included. The toy is 18.5 inches by 18.5 inches by 15 inches when fully assembled.

Babies can also play with this toy on the floor, without the snap-on legs. With the many activities, young children will have hours of excitement, learning, and laughing. One of the greatest features is the Imagination mode. In this mode, the toy plays real-world sounds like piano keys, cell-phone tones and plenty more.

There are a handful of minor issues with the table. The closing apparatus on the computer snaps closed, which may result in pinched fingers if it is not closed up with care. The second minor concern is when the toy is set in Spanish language mode, it announces everything in English first and then Spanish. If the young child pushes the button too fast, they will not hear the Spanish phrases.

Overall, this is an excellent and very educational toy for your child or childcare center. It comes strongly rated by clients on Amazon, and by Childcare Training Info.
