This fighter starts his career as a mixed martial arts referee. He is Mario Yamasaki he refereed over 180 fights and most of it is for the UFC he is also a licensed referee in many states. Later part of his career on the year 2010 he was named as the Bad Boy "Referee of the Year".
He was born on December 14, 1963 in Sao Paulo, Brazil. He first started to love the martial arts when he and his two brothers teach the said sport. It is also the reason that brought him to the world of Mixed Martial Arts.
It runs to their blood that has a passion of the mixed martial arts for his father, Shigueru Yamasaki, an eighth degree red and white belt in Judo, and his uncle, Shigueto Yamasaki trained the brothers in the art as young children.
Mario trained under the 5th degree black belter Marcelo Behring also under Rickson Gracie. He never wasted time for some useless things but trained and learned the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. He used to travel from United States and go back to Brazil and then back and forth. He never forgets his mentor's advice and keeps on going and asking for more instructions. Despite of his long distance with his mentor he is still training under the care of his brothers hands Fernando. He gains his 4th degree black belt in the year 2002.
Ultimate Brazil or the first UFC Brazil was held in Sao Paolo, Brazil and was established by Mario and his brother. It was then he was offered the referee position with the UFC.
Way back the first event at UFC 20 with Wanderlei Silva's first win in 1999 was Yamasaki's riffing career in UFC fights. He recent officiated events such as the UFC 128.
Mario Yamasaki is a married man with children and currently living in Pennsylvenia . He is also the chief instructor of his own school of martial arts. Then he also has Yamasaki Academy and operates his chains of Brazilian Jiu-jitsu schools.
