Ways In Which Hotels Have Evolved Through The Years

By Lara Church

Over the years, there has been a huge change in the hotel industry. The hotel industry has come a long way from being barely an industry to one of the most prolific ones today. Today the cheap hotel London is the current big thing. They're a bit risky, but that risk of huge investments is backed up by the fact that hotels are the result of large scale and careful planning. You can also note how differently the hotels today look from the hotels a couple of years ago. Worldwide, there has been an increase of luxury hotel chains, which are attracting all sorts of visitors internationally. Thanks to the increased diversity and talents of architects and designers, there are bolder and more innovative designs to these hotels. The growth of chained hoteliers, local and international, has helped kick start the growth of the hotel chain industry.

Over the years, there is a considerable growth in the sophistication and complexity of the perfect Kings Cross hotel London. There is also a considerable shift from hoteliers owning their own properties to hoteliers just leasing buildings designed and owned by others. With a good design, you don't have to worry about problems like construction delays, cost over runs, high housekeeping/maintenance costs, and other future troubles.

Another significant trend that began in the 1920's was toward corporate rather than individual ownership of the hotel. Individuals rarely own hotels nowadays because of an increase in hotel building and operation costs. The popularity of hotels has led to the emergence of chain hotels. It allows for efficient management through the huge of mass purchasing, central reservation & billing & extensive advertisement & promotion.

The commercialization of the hotel industry also has something to do with this. You may also notice a lack of warmth from the hotel staff. This is because luxury hotels train their staff to not be too emotionally attached to their customers. A luxury hotel is defined through the quality not only of its facilities, but those of the staff as well. It can be judged that guests stays are often rated 'eighty to twenty', eighty being the service encountered during their stay and twenty being the physical surroundings of the hotel itself.

Another change in the hotel industry is that of the internet. Thanks to the Internet there have been radical changes in the industry. No doubt about that. It has completely changed the way consumers find, discover and book hotels within ten years. The customer can easily book hotels online such as hotels near King Cross. You can also compare the different rates and services of hotels online. The hotel industry has experienced changes for the better. These changes were needed in order to meet the growing complexities of modern society. In order for the industry to advance, change is always necessary. The hotel industry is one of the greatest contributors to our worldwide economy.
