Cheap Way To Improve Your Vertical

By Brad Durham

Increasing how high you can jump is beneficial for overall athletic abilities. You don't have to be a basketball player or a volleyball player to justify improving your vertical jump. It's a great thing to do no matter what sport you're involved in.

No matter which sports you play you're going to be better off with an increased vertical. If you're a baseball player having a great vertical won't necessarily help you make contact with a pitch, but it will have a positive impact on your power and speed when you do connect with a fastball.

In order to really increase a vertical jump, it's often necessary to get involved with a number of power lifts. These lifts translate to strengthening all sorts of parts of an athlete.

One of the easiest vertical jumping exercises to do are toe raises. The best part about this exercise routine is that it's fast and easy to do. Plus, it doesn't cost a thing and you can do it from your home or office. You don't even have to break a sweat while doing it.

Some people call toe raises, toe lifts. Regardless of what you call it, it's very simple to do. With your feet shoulder width apart and facing forward just raise your heels off the ground. Next, just lower your heels back to where they started. That was one repetition of a toe raise. I suggest starting out by doing sets of fifty reps. You can do three sets in the morning and three sets in the evening if you want to see results sooner.

Jumping on a trampoline is a good exercise to improve your vertical. By jumping on a regular basis you're exercising the muscles and parts of the body that are most essential for leaping.

Toe raises and time on a trampoline are fun and easy ways to improve your vertical leap. If you're really committed to this process then you should consider spending some time learning about power lifting. This will be more of a traditional workout that will involve going to a weight room. Hopefully there is one in your area that you have access to.

If you're injured you won't be able to workout. If you can't workout, then you can't improve your vertical jumping abilities. Keeping yourself healthy should be a top priority. You can help insure that you'll stay healthy by brining in a professional to oversee your workouts. A trainer or coach can spot you and give you tips on your form to make sure you're getting the best results possible.
