Essential Frame Fundamentals While Trying Fixies On Sale

By Daniel Turbin

For anyone who is having a few problems when looking at several fixies for sale, then take some guidelines. Concentrate on the frame. This is the whole thing that is at the core of a good fixed gear bike. Get this aspect right and you are going to be on to an obvious winner. So what should you be seeking for in the frames of fixies for sale?

So you need to decide what you are going to do. Is track and racing your job, is it going to be an all purpose road bike or does a feeling of adventure appeal and you wish to be out in the wilderness somewhere. It all impacts on the frame you are going to need.

Therefore if we take track fixie bikes, the frames now are very important. They have to keep the rider in an upright position with no wobbling or flexing. That means a race lost or a crash. There is absolutely no margin for error. The best frames are carbon fiber that will set you back a tidy wedge of cash. However that's the nature of the beast.

Road frames thought need to do many things. You need a stable ride, but flexibility to take the pounding of the black stuff and its pot holes and cracks. This is the middle market and a $150 frame or less of fine quality will easily be found.

Mountain fixie frames are highly tough. They mustn't crumple at the first rock or dip you strike. They also need some flexibility with them to take the ride to acceptable levels for the spine. The sprocket ground clearance is a dead giveaway whether you have the perfect one or not.

So carry these concepts along with you whenever you find fixies for sale. Obtain it right and then everything flows from this general principle of the frame first.
