Helpful Safety Advice For Solo Runners

By Alberk A Prestan

Having entered into a local triathlon competition set to take place in early 2013, I have committed fully to practicing every evening after work. While I practice with a couple of training pals occasionally, more often than not, I go by myself.

I have no qualms with regards to late-night running other than with the higher odds of crime and also unexpected accidents. I figured that probably I would obtain a stun gun for self defense on this occasion.

Paul, my fitness trainer, has been urging me to get one, reasoning that stun weapons paralyze assailants briefly via an electrical shock. But, they are non-lethal and also do not deal any kind of irreversible damage.

As stun devices let their users to get away as well as contact assistance, these users do not have to fight back and become caught in times of grave danger.

My trainer uses a 300,000-volt stun baton personally that is 16 inches in size. Being more than regular stun weapons, this helped him avoid a holdup once. Baton stun devices possess a major advantage because of their longer size as well as, thus, extended reach.

A 4.5-million-volt cell phone stun weapon that Lisa, a training pal of mine, utilizes isn't just little and easy to carry. It is also equipped with a six-LED flashlight. It looks just like a camera phone and has an LED warning light, which shows whenever the safety is off and the gadget is ready to use. Since camouflaged stun weapons like this one are concealed in everyday items, enemies can't ever tell that a user is about to counterattack.

Paul suggests that I get a 1.2-million-volt rechargeable pen stun gun with flashlight. He wants one, too, saying that high voltage stun weapons deploy faster-acting defense since these take a lot fewer shots just to bring an attacker down.

I am still deliberating on what type to obtain but I know for certain that I am getting a stun gun for self defense more than any other weapon.
