These items will be very helpful towards making sure that you, along with your loved ones are going to survive untoward incidents for the next three days. You cannot always expect help to be there immediately. In cases where there are other people who are affected too, there is a need for you to have to wait for your turn to get rescued having enough supplies will ensure that you will survive.

People should invest on food items as well as water supplies. These food items should be none perishables, so getting canned ones may be the most ideal for this process. Pet food should be included if you happen to have furry friends in the house. Water supply is critical as well. Have lots of them. Also, supplements and vitamins are going to be good additions to your list.

Have the necessary supplies that should allow you to cook in the midst of the disaster, especially when the powers are down. You will need lighting supplies too. As much as possible, go for water proof ones. Have the necessary heating products too. Stack up on sweaters, warm clothes, jackets and blankets top keep you warm the whole time.

Have the necessary kits for first aid as well. There is no telling when someone might actually get injured or fractured during the whole commotion, making sure you have stuff you can use to treat these injuries is very reassuring. At the same time, if you have a special needs loved one, have his medications and other essentials ready too, for the next three days.

Know the disaster plans that you need to consider as well. Have the necessary maps, disaster books, as well as GPS devices that should help you to know what to do to survive the predicament better. Have your family briefed on what they have to do in situations where you might get separated. Give them these steps so you are confident that they will do well even on their own.

You might need to get your very own self defense devices too. If you need to be out in the open the whole time, camping out, and waiting to be rescued, you might be prone to wild animals and even attacks from fellow humans. So, having something that you can use to defend yourself helps. Also, don't miss out on sanitation items such as tissues, wipes, and sanitary bags.

You actually need high quality products that are expected to work and function when the times are rough. Also, when storing food items, check their expiration date and change them regularly so they stay fresh when the time comes for you to need and require them.
