Requirements For Becoming A Train The Trainer CNA Instructor

The work of a qualified train the trainer CNA instructor is to teach students taking nursing assistant training courses. He must be a registered nurse who is able to do lesson preparation, assessment of the student and relevant record keeping. The possible places where this professionals works include community colleges, career training institutes and private health institution. These professionals usually hold an associate degree or a bachelor degree in nursing. He also has to go through an additional requirement of at least 2years on the job experience in the capacity of a registered nurse. Here are some qualifications for professionals interested in this career.

One must first have the qualifications equivalent to a registered nurse. This can be achieved in two ways; an individual can enroll for a two years associate degree program in nursing or a four year bachelor of science in nursing program. Community colleges and nursing schools offer these programs.

A registered nurse training program involves an intensive theory class sessions. A mandatory requirement to work in a laboratory setting is also included to equip the student with practical experience before handling the patient. Before completion of the training, one is expected to do a work rotation in the various departments of the hospital and other health care facilities.

It is a general requirement for all students of this program to learn appropriate care to all patients irrespective of the age. The programs however focus more on the care of adult, the elderly and also maternal and newborn care. The students are expected to learn the ethics of nursing where confidentiality and patient privacy is emphasized.

After you have graduated from a recognized nursing school you have to do a national council licensure examination to get a license which allows you to work in this field. It is only when you pass this exam that you can use the registered nurse resignation. There could be other qualification requirements to become licensed after your exam but that will depend on the state you are in.

It is a requirement for the certified nursing assistant to work in a medical facility for experience purposes. This can be for a period of 1 to 2 years depending on the state you are in. To be able to teach effectively, he has to go through a program that equips him with coaching skills. Train-the-trainer certification program will grant him these skills. In most states, this programs last for 15 hours though other places it can last for more than that.

A certified nursing assistant teacher helps his student by providing them with theoretical and practical skills so they can be able to perform well in their examination as well as to enable them to do their work effectively. Due to technological advancements there are many new and better techniques used in the medical field today. So the teacher should keep himself updated on these changes.

Upon completion of train the trainer CNA instructor course one is free to seek employment provided he meets the set requirements depending on his state. Possible places to seek employment include a local community college, nursing care homes and municipal health colleges. Some high schools and vocational technical institutions can also employ such professionals.
