Going For A High Quality Travel Yoga Mat

By John MacKintosh

Even when traveling, a yogi must take with him or her all the essentials, and it includes a travel yoga mat. One with an excellent quality enables you to do your regular routines regardless of where you go. Because it's designed in a different way than the standard type, you can be sure it's not going to take up a lot of space in your luggage.

You can easily fold it and stash in your suitcase, backpack and even purse. That's because it is thinner than the standard one. It's a wise move to pack lightly whenever you're taking a trip. You don't want to bring along something that's cumbersome. With this, you can attain much comfort while you're on your way to your destination as it can weigh anywhere from 1 to 5 pounds only.

It's thinner than what's intended for use on a regular basis. Because of this, the product is more prone to wear and tear. Also, certain poses may prove to be uncomfortable. However, placing the product on a carpet, rug or large towel should solve the issue. You should choose something that won't bunch up while being used.

A lot of them have a measurement of 24 x 68 inches. Some of them can go larger than that, recommended for taller yogis. But due to the thinness, even something large can weigh less that the standard one. By going for a size that suits you properly, you can perform your routines effectively while you're by the seashore, in a hotel room or your parents' place.

Such product is also generally easier to clean. You can have the one you own hand washed in the kitchen sink or bathtub. It also dries up really quickly because it's thin. However, not all products may have the same cleaning requirements. To ensure that you're taking care of yours properly, check the cleaning directions coming from the manufacturer.

Purchasing something cheap isn't a wise idea. You can find something for a traveling yogi having premium quality sold at a reasonable price. These products may not be as hard-wearing as their standard counterparts. But something that comes from a reliable manufacturer is sure to last longer than one with a substandard quality.

See to it that the travel yoga mat you wish to go for is out of natural rubber. It should also be the non-slip type. This is an important feature if you want to avoid having an accident, especially when engaging in routines that make you perspire heavily. Go for something that's portable yet isn't short on comfort, sturdiness and safety.
