Refrigerators in campers will typically work on electrical power or from propane. This enables you to have cold food even when you are in the woods. Most stoves in campers are also operated on propane. If you don't care about having lights on, this allows you to do something called boon-docking. Many campers like to stay in remote areas rather than pay fees for camping.

There are systems to learn about in your camping choice. In either type of camper, these systems are basically the same. You will have an on-board septic system with gray water tank, black water and a fresh water tank to carry drinking and bathing water wherever you go.

You will also have a power center that is either 30 amp or 50 amp which controls power to your entire camper and also converts ac power to dc to charge a battery that allows you to run lights at those times you have to power to plug your unit into. Some campers also have generators built-in that allow you to run power systems without being plugged into power. For those who wish to be in remote locations this is a great option to look for when shopping for travel trailers for sale.
