Wedding Day Photo Booths - From "I Do" to "I Remember"

By Samantha Breen

Your wedding day will forever stand out in your memories as one of the best days of your life. You spend months if not years planning this one day, and when it is over you will want to go back in time so you can relive it all over again. Your big day may have some small imperfections or mishaps, but those are the things that will give the day character and personality to be remembered forever.

Most people hire videographers and photographers to capture their wedding day, but those services do not capture the true magic of the day. Your guests are the magic of your big day. They have loved and supported you throughout your lifetime, and now they will come together to share tears of happiness as you walk down the aisle and say "I do" to the love of your life. Let the photographer capture the cake and the bride's dance with her father, but don't leave the guests out of the picture.

Those you love the most will appreciate your photo booth hire, since it gives them the opportunity to take a sentimental part in your big day. You will end up with a video containing recorded messages from those enjoying your big day along with you. Photos can also be snapped with fun poses, and guests will pose solo or in groups of two to six. Some booths can open up for the capacity to capture pictures of large groups.

You may bring in a photographer and videographer, but there is still room at the party for a photo booth hire. Your guests are given the freedom to create special memories on your big day when given the booth opportunity.

Photographers tend to capture posed pictures and the highlights of the big day, but they miss those special images that can be created by your guests. Every guest enjoying your big day will put their personality on display when they climb into the booth.

Incorporating the Photo Booth

Everyone will want to get into the photo booth once guests realize it is there, so make sure there is plenty of opportunity for everyone to take their turn. One way to incorporate the booth is to place it right at the entrance of the reception hall. Your guests will have to blow some time waiting for your wedding party to get pictures with the photographer right after the ceremony. This time can easily be filled with time in the photo booth.

Guests who do not get a turn in the photo booth before you make your big entrance into the reception can go back to the line when the party gets started. Guests should be asked to step out of line to watch your entrance and perhaps eat, then they should be free to dance and live it up while going into the booth in different groups to record video messages and snap pictures.

You may want to offer a special prize to the guest who makes the funniest picture in the booth. This encourages all of your guests to go into the booth. It also encourages them to think creatively when taking their pictures, so you have better memories to look back at later on.

The exchange of your vows is what really matters on this day, but with a photo booth you will have a lot of other memories to keep close to your heart.
